Brittany Dotson, M.Ed, LDT, is a Mississippi state-licensed Speech (articulation) Therapist & Dyslexia Therapist. She currently works as a Dyslexia Specialist at a local school in Baton Rouge, LA. She completed her graduate studies at the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, MS to earn a master's degree in Dyslexia Therapy. Brittany earned a bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss).
Brittany has received 700 supervised practicum hours in dyslexia therapy during her graduate-level studies. At least 100 of these hours were at the DuBard School for Language Disorders in Hattiesburg, MS. She has extensive experience in both the public and private school system at the primary and secondary levels. Brittany is trained in the DuBard Association Method and Neuhaus.
Brittany attends the DuBard School for Language Disorder's symposium to remain abreast on evidence-based practices for dyslexia and related disorders. She is a member of the International Dyslexia Association, Mississippi Speech-Language Hearing Association, and the Mississippi Dyslexia Therapy Association.
Working with children is Brittany's passion. She enjoys helping children in the areas of phonological awareness, morphology, reading comprehension, fluency, spelling, writing, writing composition, and study skills.
